Employing 15 skilled personnel, Bright Spark Precision Engineering has significant expertise in horizontal CNC machining and it counts the Aerospace & Motorsport industries as its most significant markets. Most of the precision components supplied are complex in nature and require tight deadlines as well as critical tolerances.

Bright Spark's position as a recognised supplier to the Aerospace sector is thanks to its investments in technology as well as the flexibility and technical know-how of its people. The company is approved to the AS9100 Aerospace standard, and has been responsible for producing components for all manner of Aerospace applications, including aircraft interior assemblies, military seating, commercial seating, and bed seats for first class cabins.

Benefiting from more available production space, Bright Spark will allow the Merc Group to venture into new exciting areas. The Bright Spark Mazak Integrex section will also add to the expansion of Merc Engineering's facility of mill-turn centres, which require large footprints and high ceilings; machines that Merc's clients are keen to see it increase in number. Both companies complement each other to offer their existing clients the best possible services, working together to fill and benefit from one another's capacity.

Bright Spark will continue to concentrate on higher yielding batches, utilising large mill-turn centres and horizontal machining centres. In tandem with Merc, it can also offer EDM spark erosion, EDM wire erosion and EDM fast-hole drilling.
